About Us

Eastern Square was established in 1999 by Nick Madden. Nick had previously worked as an Acquisitions Surveyor in the commercial department of Glenny, a firm of Chartered Surveyors covering London and the South East, before joining Clemence Property Developments as Acquisitions Manager. Nick subsequently became Acquisitions Director for Lansbury and was responsible for creating new development opportunities for major UK companies such as Tesco, Waitrose, BP, BT, Wickes, Halfords and Safeway.

Tony Osbourne joined Eastern Square in 2009, after eight years as Senior Project Manager at Lidl. Tony was responsible for building and opening eighteen new Lidl stores, as well as completing four conversions. Tony was previously a Senior Construction Manager at McDonald’s, building drive thru restaurants across the South East of England.

Eastern Square takes a proactive, forward-thinking approach to creating deals and making developments happen. With over 35 years’ experience, Nick and Tony have established strong links to occupiers such as Lidl, Morrisons, the Co-op, Aldi, KFC, Burger King, retirement home operators and affordable housing organisations.

Eastern Square has acquired sites, purchased existing buildings, successfully undertaken site assemblies, secured planning for food retail stores, acquired public houses, completed residential developments and worked jointly with landowners through partnership agreements.
